Howdy boys and girls. It's time for this year's last issue of LIVELY INTERNET THEORY - the best the internet has to offer, or at least the most interesting stuff I've found bumming around the net in the past month or so. Without further ado, here's some neat stuff.
I happened across this website when looking up stuff about this funny music duo who made tracks for games like Pop'n Music (the funky arcade rhythm game with the freaky buttons) and it's quite the trip. So check out this article about these interesting musicians!

I shall archive a poriton of the design of their site here briefly. Good, technologically-optimized use of the medium of internet web page.
Upon exploring the rest of this website, I found a great product of the internet. It's an independent music blog article news opinion-y type place (20 years ago, the word for this would have just been "magazine" or "newspaper") with its own distinctive charm. I would have almost just bookmarked this and kept it in my back pocket, but I've also been reading Funny Because It's True, a book about the satire group The Onion. The author of that book sings the praises of many independent publications similar to The Onion, and it kinda made me want to make my own newspaper, until I realized that there's no medium more dead than newspaper. Even whenever I find publications that have newspaper versions still running (I'm looking at the UK Catholic Herald and The Onion), I simply can't bring myself to pay a big chunk of change for something that's otherwise free or at least significantly cheaper to read the online version. I love the idea, but buying a print newspaper? In this economy?!
I continue to be a proud support of the journalists at The Pillar, however. Shoutout to all great journalists!!
As I've said before, there are still a ton of great Youtubers out there - you just gotta take that chance on that channel that has 100 subscribers. Make sure to support your small local Youtubers! And I dedicate this post to two of my favorites, Taigen Moon, who just released a banger video on the history of Apple and gaming, and f4mi who somehow has put out two videos back to back after months and months of hiatus. And of course I gotta mention Tofokyo and his website where he now has his own... TV channel you can watch online? It's amazing lol.
Lastly, somebody made a fan film based on Deltarune and the relationship between a few of the game's main characters. It's absolutely insane and it's the kind of thing that keeps me on the internet. It's a thing of beauty to see people create and share the things they're passionate about. Go watch them NOW!!!!!!

The "findherogg girl," presumably. (On a completely unrelated note, if you know that one video where some text to speech voice says "I'm the findherogg girl" and has a guy shouting "DECEMBER DECEMBER" while brainrot images appear in the background, that's what I'm referencing here and I'm desperate to find that video again. It's impossible to search for.)
I also played Hero of Law recently. It completely changes The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time into an Ace Attorney game set in the Zelda universe. Something like this lives or dies by the quality of its writing, and it's darn compentent writing and design for a random group of internet ROM-hackers! Some of the things that kept me interested in this after the story wrapped up were all the little details and extras - I suggest you play the game and try and unlock as many of them as possible! Let me drop a hint - this N64 ROM hack connects with Game Boy games via the transfer pak. If you're not able to unlock such features yourself for one reason or another, the developer himself and other youtubers cover them. Play it and look this stuff up!!

I think I'll write a full article about this, but I've been really liking finding the kind of stuff to put on in the background. Music mixes, different livestreams, weather channel recreations. (ON THAT NOTE, SOMEHOW *ANOTHER* RETRO WEATHER CHANNEL RECREATION HAS HIT THE INTERNET?? Oh, also, go wander about all the web pages associated with its creators. They have a lot of other fun projects and a Discord server.) I've been really digging this view in Chicago where you get a fun mix of cars, trains and people milling about the city. I've kept it on my second monitor at work a lot during slower times, it's like a live screensaver.

I could watch this for days. I wonder what that says about me...? Probably nothing.
Some people have been keeping WinAmp alive while the company that actually owns it is doing some weird crypto scam BS with the WinAmp name. If you want to keep using the best way to play music on your PC, check out WACUP. It runs fine through WINE on Linux too!
MelonLand seems like a really cool online forum. Lots of great projects you can sort through there.
OldAppleStuff is making a new AI client for old Macintosh computers. I'm not a big fan of AI, but seeing this guy truck along on this rather ambitious project is impressive. I'm all for seeing what people do with vintage Mac systems. Go check it out.
My friend is starting a page on Neocities. Go check it out and pester him somehow, maybe it'll motivate him to keep up on it WAHAHAHAHA
And in case you haven't seen yet, I have a strange affinity for making sketchy advertisement images. Check around the website every now and then and click on them for some completely unamusing surprises!
That's all for now. Stay safe, stay warm, stay blessed!!
